Sooth
Sooth uses TENS technology to reduce pain drug-free. I designed my TENS machine around feminine pain. Although the machine has recently been redesigned around feminine pain, I identified fundamental flaws in the original design, particularly the adhesive gel pads not being secure enough on the skin to support an active lifestyle. I decided to create an aesthetic wired TENS machine to fill a gap in the market. Wired TENS machines that attach to clothing rather than directly to the skin are far more stable and do not fall off. This is the first wired TENS machine to incorporate an app. The gel pads used on machines that attach directly to the body are significantly more expensive than traditional wired ones. For someone experiencing constant chronic pain from feminine health, this expense can add up.I also explored whether TENS devices for female health are subject to the "pink tax" — the practice of charging more for products marketed to women than similar products marketed to men. Recently, feminine products have been redesigned to enable a more active lifestyle, addressing a bias that women experiencing feminine pain are less active.

Habitat homeware for renters

I was tasked with creating a homeware product for renters, from my research I realised most renters suffer with a lack of space. I always reflected back to the question of how people actually use things in their home. I discovered people use a desk or table in their home for multiple purposes like eating, work and beauty. Using a space for multiple purposes can cause clutter and inconvenience, exploring Japanese design was a key insight around multifunctionality of a space.
I wanted my design to be beautiful and homely, to try and achieve this I incorporated the weaved basket design. I was inspired by traditional African weaving and decided that it would be manufactured by an African weaving outreach, providing people with a stable income and keeping the craft alive. I've noticed people are swaying to more unique pieces and an increase in popularity in ethical shopping.

Alpkit sonder
One of my favourite projects, this was my first project with a paying client and I had only two weeks to provide a concept - I thrived from the challenge. The project was to house an AC to DC converter for a bicycle. This is a machine that converts the current generated from the bike into a usable current to charge your devices. I decided to incorporate this within a bike light due to a gap in the market for a high-quality, mid-range AC/DC converter that was integral to a bike light, while providing the additional benefit of saving space on the handlebars.

ceramic drinkware
This homeware collection was driven by a pursuit of simple, functional beauty. It became an opportunity for research and immersion. I gathered inspiration from global craft traditions and chose to dive into ceramics, taking a hands-on approach to understand the material's constraints and possibilities. Designing through making deepened my appreciation for the final object's honest, crafted aesthetic.

Painting product
In analysing the DIY painting and decorating process, I identified a critical failure point, paint can lid sealing. Existing cans inherently allow paint build up on the inner lip, leading to poor resealing, accelerated drying, and significant material waste. I designed a product solution to reduce paint build up improving can usability and shelf-life for both professionals and consumers.
